CBM Changing Name; Focus
“When we first started Cabarrus Business in January of 2001, there were several large, independently owned companies based here that we could count on for support,” explained Jason Huddle, publisher of the magazine. “Now, most of those have either been bought out, moved their corporate headquarters or have gone out of business entirely. The face of our business climate has changed in this county. When we first began publishing, this county was all about textiles and tobacco. Now, it’s about tourism and we, as a publication, need to adapt to that change as well.”
Huddle added that the newly named magazine will be placed in many of the hotel rooms in Cabarrus County. “We have about 1000 rooms confirmed now and we are talking to several other hotels. It is our goal to have Cabarrus Magazine in as many hotel rooms as possible.”
Huddle said readers can expect continued informative and entertaining editorial from his publication. He also added that he is not shunning the business community either. The magazine will still have business notes and news included. However, “without the ‘business’ moniker, we feel like we can have a bit more fun with it, which we are anxious to do after a dozen years,” said Huddle. “Our first cover as Cabarrus Magazine will be a drastic change from what our readers have seen in the past. We are excited to bring it to them!”
The re-designed and re-named Cabarrus Magazine will be available on stands at online June 1. For more information, please visit www.cabarrusmagazine.com or call 704-782-2353.
