Jul 27, 2015 04:30AM, Published by Family Features, Categories: Family Features Food, Family Features

There’s plenty of research that shows eating well and school performance are closely linked. Whether you’re fueling up for a busy day or grabbing a snack on the go, keeping nutrition in mind will help the whole family feel good about diving into an exciting new school year.

Butter Lettuce Papaya Smoothie

A Smooth Way to Add Fruits & Veggies
Today’s nutritional guidelines recommend that children consume at least five servings per day of fresh fruits and vegetables. Yet the reality is many parents struggle with getting their kids to eat healthier, especially during the school year. The good news is, with very little preparation you can serve healthy, grab-and-go meals that are not only nutrient-rich, they’re vegetarian friendly and delicious. With meals like this, your kids might actually want seconds. Try this quick, refreshing recipe for a breakfast or after school snack option. If you’re feeling inspired, create your own butter lettuce recipe — it might be worth a $1,000. Learn how at
