Alex came to the United States at the age of 11 and grew up in Miami, FL. He played junior tennis in Florida and internationally on the Junior ITF circuit. Alex helped team USA capture their first boys under 14’s world title in Perth, Australia. Ranked #1 in the nation in boys 16’s and 18’s, he turned pro in 2002. He reached a career high ranking of #33 in the world, competed in the 2nd round of the 2012 Olympics in London, played on 3 Davis Cup teams for Russia and has multiple wins against ATP top 10 opponents.
Alex’s mission statement reads as follows:
“I believe that hard work far exceeds talent. As a player, that was my philosophy. I am confident that it will transcend into my coaching career here at Cabarrus Country Club. I am looking to form a world class tennis academy that produces top junior players and helps them reach their dreams. I will employ the lessons I learned through my tennis and help you reach your goals.”
By combining the 50+years of teaching experience of the current Performance Tennis Academy staff with Alex’s world class tennis success our academy students will be able to take advantage of a truly unique learning experience. Mark Allen along with the entire Performance Racquet Sports team welcomes Alex and is looking forward to a successful relationship.
