Look. I’ll be honest. Beer just isn’t my thing. No excuses, no apologies, it’s just a fact. Having said that, do you know what I do love? Community. Comradery. People coming together to enjoy each other’s company and have a good time. That’s what the craft beer community does. It attracts people from all walks of life.

It’s also an industry that, while still in its relative infancy, is creating jobs and opportunities and generating revenue across the country. Now it has arrived in Cabarrus County and we couldn’t be more excited to tell you about it.

We’ll take you on a magical history tour so you can learn where this hobby-turned-industry got its start, as well as familiarize you with a local homebrewing club. We’ll also introduce the new craft breweries open in the area along with those soon to open their doors. Then, for those of you who feel so inspired, we’ll help to educate you on how to brew your own beer. And what goes better with beer than food? How about another delicious recipe to accompany your favorite beverage, courtesy of Chef Daniel Garmon.

So enjoy this month’s ice-cold edition of Cabarrus Magazine, served up with just enough froth to wet your whistle. Just remember to read responsibly.
