Trump Rallies Concord

Mar 07, 2016 03:21PM ● By Jason Huddle
It isn't often presidential candidates stop through Concord, NC, but Donald Trump is not your ordinary candidate. Wherever he goes, both strong support and controversy seem to follow him. Today's rally at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center was no different.

When he took the podium, about 12:30 (EST), the crowd was primed and ready for his arrival. He was quickly joined by former NASCAR driver, Mark Martin, who offered his support for Trump and encouraged others to do the same. Trump also announced that NASCAR was endorsing him as well.

Throughout his speech, Trump kept to the same message he has stuck to for the past few weeks - stronger military, get jobs back to America, take care of the vets, repeal Obamacare. He also continued he rampages against "Little Marco" (Rubio) and "Lyin' Ted" (Cruz), his only remaining viable opponents for the Republican nomination.

The crowd, for the most part, seemed to enjoy these point, but not everyone there was a fan. Several

protesters attempted to disrupt the rally, but were quickly escorted out by the authorities. Trump paid them little mind, except to make fun of them as they left the building. "Are we sure we're in North Carolina," he asked the crowd. "These people are nasty," he said, referring to the protesters.

Trump spoke for about an hour, before stopping to speak to a few supporters before heading to Raleigh for another rally later today, which will, no doubt, be filled with the same cheers and jeers he faced today in Concord.
