Concord Sailor Earns Warrior of the Day Award Aboard USS Harry S. Truman

Aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) recognized Airman Apprentice Joshua Teesdale as the ship’s Warrior of the Day, June 17.
The title is awarded to Sailors demonstrating superior performance in the line of duty. Truman’s Warrior of the Day is hand selected from 3,000 Sailors and recognized by Truman’s Commanding Officer Capt. Ryan B. Scholl.
Teesdale, of Concord, N.C., was selected for his outstanding performance while serving as a ship’s armory technician onboard Truman. In just 7 months onboard, he supported 27 live fire range events qualifying 356 personnel. His efforts as a gun range support specialist were a tremendous contribution, resulting in the safe expenditure of 63,000 rounds of ammunition. Teesdale aspires to obtain his enlisted surface warfare specialist qualification before returning home.
Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
