Nearly 400 guests attended the August 19 debut of Finding Solitude, the Galleries of Cabarrus Arts Council's latest exhibition, which runs through October 21, 2016.

Coinciding with downtown Concord Art Walk, the new exhibit’s opening reception offered art lovers a unique opportunity to speak with a selection of artists whose work is featured throughout the exhibition.

Finding Solitude sets a tranquil and serene tone, with abstract and landscape paintings, sculptural glasswork, stunning floral and countryside photographs, and hand-turned wooden vessels. Each piece represents the peacefulness felt by the artist during the creative process.

The exhibition displays artwork from eight artists residing in the Carolinas: Tim Buchman, Erin Canady, Bre Barnett Crowell, Charles Farrar, Judson Guérard, Julia Chandler Lawing, Chrys Riviere-Blalock and Kate Long Stevenson.

The Galleries hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m
