Recently, the Cox Mill High School Charger varsity cheerleading squad was given the title of the 2017 NCHSAA Cheerleading champions.

According to a
Cabarrus County Schools Facebook post: "Cox Mill High School Charger Cheerleaders are 2017 NCHSAA Cheerleading Champions! The squad competed in the Small Varsity D1 division on Saturday, Dec. 2nd and took home first place out of thirteen teams. Congratulations, Chargers!"

Crystal Brewington, their coach, attributes their success to lots of hard work and dedication. Their website states, "Joining the Cox Mill Cheerleading Squad requires MAJOR commitment from athletes. We strive for success and excellence from all cheerleaders IN AND OUT of the uniform."

This was only their third year competing and took home the first place slot out of 13 teams.

The routine that helped the Chargers win was choreographed by Kendyl Brewer, who has previously cheered with Brewington at Mount Pleasant in her high school years.

See the video below to watch their winning performance.

Congratulations, Chargers!
