Summer is in full swing, and that means the heat is too. Time is spent attempting to stay cool. Days are spent heading to the local pool, local swimming holes, or staying indoors where the air conditioning is at full blast.

Sometimes, though, all it takes to cool off is a cold treat! There are several local ice cream shops in Cabarrus County that will help you through the summer heat. Though there are plenty of chain ice cream shops we could focus on, we wanted to keep this list locally owned.

Read on to see where you should grab your next cone.

On July 1st, 2018, Cabarrus Creamery celebrated 15 years at their current location on Union Street in downtown Concord. This beloved shop is known for its local feel and its variety of flavors, with unique additions like Key Lime Pie, Cherry Garden, and Red Velvet Cake.

C3

C3 is a Concord-based coffee shop that's also a creamery with crepes -- thus, "C3." Originally imagined in 2003 as a picture of what the future could be, C3 has gone through several transformations in its arrival to the present, it's website states. The ice cream found here is made-to-order and nitrogen-based, making it a fun experience all around as your treat is made right in front of your eyes.

What makes this place so unique is its offerings. You can find tasty coffee and crepes here if the ice cream isn't hitting the spot. Stop by and hang out!
