Up Front with Cabarrus Magazine Pocast Begins 3-Part Series on Education

Jul 11, 2019 12:00PM ● By Jason Huddle
This week, the Up Front with Cabarrus Magazine podcast is beginning a 3-week series, centered on education. In the weeks to come, host, Jason Huddle will be talking to teachers at the grade-school level, as well as local higher-education administrators about how to properly prepare for the upcoming school year and how the face of higher education is changing.

This week, huddle tackles the issue of college cost. "For years we have heard the college has become something only the privileged can afford without taking on high-interest student loans to cover the cost," Huddle explained. "However, we have discovered programs that have existed since the 70's that allow high school students to attend at no cost, as well as low-cost options for adults! It's astounding to me, we never hear about these programs in the media at large."

Jennifer Cook DeRosa, blogger and author of Homeschooling for College Credit, serves as guest this week and breaks down all these programs. "Before you sign those high-interest student loan papers, please listen to this podcast," Huddle asked the public.
