Corner Field Market Helps Feed Hundreds of Households in Cabarrus County

Apr 24, 2020 11:18AM ● By Kristy Huddle

Located in the Cabarrus Dream Center off of Concord Pkwy. S., the Corner Field Market has served our community for over 30 years assisting those who have food insecurities.  During the Covid-19 crisis, they continue to provide food to households by offering a drive through distribution every Tuesday and Thursday.

March 17th was the first scheduled drive through distribution day for Corner Field Market.  It was a typical day serving 109 households in Cabarrus County.  Two days later the numbers began to grow and within a week the number of households increased by 82% serving 488 households in one week.  The numbers have leveled off to around 300 - 350 households over the past three weeks.  According to Community Outreach and Cabarrus Dream Center Pastor, Gwen Stowers, “There is still plenty of food to serve more of our Cabarrus County families.  We have seen 539 new families over the past six weeks, but there is always food for one more.  We have food, we want people to come.  Please don’t go hungry!”

If you have need for food, the hours are 1pm - 4:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  The lines may look long, but the distribution goes quickly.  For more information, please go to the Cabarrus Dream Center or Corner Field Market Facebook pages.
