CB Magazine

Cabarrus Business Magazine is always looking for people who want to share their expertise with the public.  In keeping with that philosophy, we encourage people to contribute articles designed to educate our readers.  In the past, we have published articles on marketing, insurance, investing and business management, just to name a few.  Cabarrus Business Magazine does not monetarily compensate for contributed articles, however, you will receive a byline at the end of the article consisting of a picture (if you wish), your qualifications for writing the article and contact information.  Contributing an article can help boost your credibility and increase your visibility within the Cabarrus Region.  Listed below are the parameters for contributing an article to Cabarrus Business Magazine for consideration.

  • Articles should be original work that does not infringe on the copyrights of other authors or publications.
  • After receiving the article, it will be edited for conciseness, correctness and clarity. Content should support the title. If substantial revision is required, writers will have the option to resubmit article at a later date.
  • Articles that pass editorial review will be published on a space-available basis
  • Cabarrus Business Magazine is under no obligation to print submissions, and there is no compensation for guest column articles.
  • Cabarrus Business Magazine follows Associated Press style.
  • Articles should not exceed 600 words, although exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.
  • Most importantly, articles are not to be used as an opportunity to advertise for your company.  "Advertorials" as they are called, will not be accepted.  The directive of the article should be to educate and inform the public of your area of expertise and not your company.
  • Writers are advised to review recent Cabarrus Business Magazine articles prior to submission to ensure that their article provides a perspective that is relevant to Cabarrus Business Magazine readers. Columns and articles offering fresh insights, ideas and trends will be given first consideration.
  • All columns must be in paragraph form: no lists, charts, graphs, and article should not contain promotional information about your company or product.
  • Writers should include their name, company, area of expertise, contact phone and contact email address (if applicable).
  • Send your article as a Microsoft Word attachment or by pasting into an email to the Editor, Jason Huddle, jhuddle@cabarrusmagazine.com
