Springfield, MO---May 12, 2009---The National Wild Turkey Federation’s (NWTF) flying turkey logo will appear on the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing No. 1, Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet driven by two-time Nationwide Series Champion and current Sprint Cup driver Martin Truex Jr. on Saturday, May 16. Truex will be competing for a win in the NASCAR Sprint Showdown in order to earn his way into the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race later that night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC.
Truex is among the Top 10 finalists for the All-Star Race Fan Vote and can also be voted in by going to www.basspro.com, www.earnhardtganassi.com, and www.NASCAR.com. KANNAPOLIS, NC – The Intimidators saw their three-game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, as the Greenville Drive pulled out a 5-3 win.
A pair of home runs—one each from Justin Greene and Kenny Williams—was not enough for Kannapolis. The Intimidators led early, but it was a long ball from Greenville that was the difference. Anthony Rizzo hit a two run home run off of Stephen Sauer in the seventh to give the Drive a 4-2 lead. Greg Infante did not factor in the decision, but gave up his first run of the season. Infante, who was named South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week for April 8-19, gave up one run on four hits in five innings.

BOWLING GREEN, KY – The Intimidators pitching staff continued to shine as Kannapolis swept a doubleheader at Bowling Green Ballpark, beating the Hot Rods 3-1 in Game 1 and 2-0 in Game Two.
Adam Bowling, Nate Jones (1-0) and Tyson Corley combined for the Intimidators fifth shutout of the season in Game 2. Bowling made the spot start, pitching four scoreless frames. Jones came in and was dominant, striking out four in two perfect innings. Corley finished it off to pick up his second save of the season.

KANNAPOLIS, NC- Intimidators right-hander Greg Infante was named the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week after a blistering start to the 2009 season. Over the first week of the campaign, Infante (1-0) pitched 12 scoreless innings over two starts. The 21-year-old out of Caracas, Venezuela started the season in stunning fashion, striking out 11 over six no-hit innings on Opening Night.

| Intimidators To Host 2009 High School Baseball Tournament Wednesday, April 08, 2009 (648 reads)
KANNAPOLIS, NC- The 7th Annual Intimidators Classic High School Baseball Tournament at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium will be held Monday, April 13 through Wednesday, April 15. Teams include Hickory Ridge, Concord, Central Cabarrus and Mt. Pleasant in the 1st Bracket. In the 2nd Bracket teams include Piedmont, J.M. Robinson, A.L. Brown and NW Cabarrus.
The tournament will open Monday with exciting games between Hickory Ridge and Concord at 10:00 am, Central Cabarrus and Mt. Pleasant at 1:00 pm, Piedmont and J.M. Robinson at 4:00 pm. The day will wrap up with A.L. Brown and NW Cabarrus at 7:00 pm. Tuesday is filled with action as well as things get rolling with the losers of games 1 & 2 at 10:00am, losers of games 3 & 4 at 1:00 pm, winners of games 1 & 2 at 4:00 pm, and the winners of games 3 & 4 at 7:00 pm. Wednesday’s action starts off with the losers of games 5 & 6 at 10:00 am, winners of games 5 & 6 at 1:00 pm, losers of games 7 & 8 at 4:00 pm, and the winners of games 7 & 8 at 7:00 pm which will determine the Tournament Champion.
