Concord - Concord City crews have completed their loose-leaf collection for 2006-2007. Leaves, cuttings and grass will only be collected if bagged. Bags must be clear and untied. Free biodegradable bags are available by calling the Customer Care Center at 704-920-5555.

When the officer arrived on the scene, he found a Hispanic male beside the road near the intersection of Powder St. SW and Sycamore St. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

Concord — NorthEast Medical (NEMC) and Carolinas Healthcare System (CHS) announced today that they have entered into a written agreement to pursue a combination of the two healthcare systems into a single organization. Anchored by NEMC in Concord and Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, the combined organization will offer an array of inpatient and outpatient services to communities in more than thirty counties in North Carolina and South Carolina. The parties expect that the combination will be complete and operational by June 2007.

Concord - At 10:30 p.m. last night Concord Police Officers responded to a 911 call at 265 Crowell Drive NW. Officers found Kari Terrell Foskey, 17, dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The shooting occurred outside the residence in the vicinity of Crowell Drive near Kerr Street.
