Kannapolis City Council Finalizes TIF

Kannapolis - At the meeting last night, the Kannapolis City Council made the last votes needed before issuing the self-financing (TIF) bonds. These bonds, which will help improve infrastructure throughout Kannapolis and will be paid back from the property taxes created by the NC Research Campus, will go to the bond market next month.

Oak Brook, Ill. – McDonald’s USA recently announced it has awarded S&D Coffee,  a supplier of Premium Roast Coffee and Iced Tea for McDonald’s USA, recognition as the 2007 Supplier of the Year. McDonald’s USA unveiled the U.S. Supplier of the Year Award at the recent U.S Supplier Summit, an annual gathering of key U.S. McDonald’s suppliers, held at its Oak Brook, Ill. headquarters.

Charlotte - Barnhardt Day & Hines, one of Charlotte’s leading advertising agencies, lent a helping hand to the 2008 Heart Ball, the American Heart Association’s annual fundraiser, by creating the “Heart of Gold” logo design and program materials for the 50th anniversary event.  The agency worked pro bono for more than six months creating a variety of program elements including: The “Heart of Gold” logo, Save the Date design and printing, invitations and print management, event program layout and the auction cover design with accompanying gift basket tags.

Breast Health Center Celebrates Grand Opening

Concord - Records prove that in 2007, only 36 percent of eligible women in Cabarrus County participated in an annual mammogram screening. That’s a drastic deficit from the 66 percent of women who do so nationally. Some community and healthcare officials are referring to those statistics as a crisis.

Charlotte Region Growth Slows

The regional economy may be down, but it’s not out – not by a long shot.
 
According to the Charlotte USA Regional Business Barometer, employment in the 16 Charlotte USA counties was up slightly for the last quarter of 2007, although job growth was just 1.6 percent compared to 3.2 percent for the year.
