Kannapolis Names New Police Chief

Level III Water Restrictions in Effect

Concord/Kannapolis – Due to the continued drought the region is experiencing and the resulting reduced stream flows, Concord City Manager Brian Hiatt, Kannapolis City Manager Mike Legg, Landis Town Administrator Reed Linn, and Harrisburg Town Administrator Carl Parmer have announced the formal implementation of Level III mandatory water use restrictions for all customers.   These local governments need citizens to help reduce water usage in each system by 20 percent. These restrictions will go into place at 8 AM on Thursday, September 27, 2007.

CMC- Northeast Wants Kannapolis ER

CMC Northeast.jpgConcord —Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast (CMC-NorthEast) announced today that it has submitted a Certificate of Need application for a freestanding emergency department to be located at I-85 and Lane Street to serve residents in and around Kannapolis. Once approved, the 23,973 square-foot proposed facility will feature ten treatment bays, two observation beds, imaging (CT, ultrasound, and x-ray), laboratory and pharmacy operations to support emergency services. The capital cost of the project is estimated to be $17,247,000 with a proposed open date of October 1, 2009.
