Bowman Receives ‘Distinguished Young Pharmacist ’ Award
Mt. Pleasant – Moose Pharmacy of Mt. Pleasant clinical pharmacist, James Bowman, PharmD, received the “Distinguished Young Pharmacist for 2009” award from the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists.

“James’ recognition is well deserved,” said Whit Moose, Jr., president of Moose Pharmacy. “He’s an outstanding pharmacist and a role model for young pharmacists everywhere.”

The North Carolina Association of Pharmacists presents the award annually to the pharmacist who has been graduated no more than ten years and has been active in local, state or national pharmacy organizations.

Bowman is currently a clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice and a clinical instructor of pharmacy practice at the Wingate University School of Pharmacy. He is a member of the board of directors of the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists and served as the chair of the Community Care Practice Forum. Bowman is also involved with the American Pharmacists Association, National Association of Community Pharmacists, and American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition,” Bowman remarked. “I’ve always placed a high value on remaining active in a variety of pharmacy organizations.

“James is devoted to his work and his profession,” explained Joe Moose, vice president of Moose Pharmacy. “His interest in advancing the pharmacy profession has led to his growth as a pharmacist, his importance within the community and his skills within our business.”

Moose Pharmacy operates four different locations in Mt. Pleasant, Concord, Midland and Salisbury. The company specializes in competitively priced prescription medication, compounding medications, Moose Pharmacy brand of over-the-counter supplements and homeopathic health solutions.

The North Carolina Association of Pharmacists is the state organization representing the profession of pharmacy, organized to unite, serve and advance the profession of pharmacy for the benefit of society. The organization was formed January 1, 2000 as a unification of the North Carolina Pharmaceutical Association (NCPhA), North Carolina Society of Health-System Pharmacists (NCSHP), North Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (NCASCP), and North Carolina Retail Pharmacy Association (NCRPA).
