Concord – Griffin Stafford, LLC, a Concord-based developer and operator of nationally franchised mid-scale focused-service and extended stay hotels, today announced plans to develop a Hilton Garden Inn in the Speedway Boulevard area of Concord, North Carolina. Plans call for construction of the 120 room hotel to commence in February 2008 with a projected opening in March 2009.
“Our company currently operates two hotels in the Speedway/Concord Mills area, so we are very familiar with the market,” said Doug Stafford, Managing Partner of Griffin Stafford Development, LLC. “We opted to move up-market for our third area property because an increasing number hotel guests are demanding more amenities and services once found only in full service luxury hotels.”
The Hilton Garden Inn – Concord will be located just off Speedway Boulevard, on Gateway Lane. “We have been very pleased with the performance of our two Concord properties,” noted Joel Griffin, Managing Partner of Griffin Stafford Management, which will be responsible for managing the hotel. “Our research and experience told us there was a need for more upscale focused-service lodging in the market. We decided to seek the rights to develop a Hilton Garden Inn because it is the leader in that category.”
Stafford says guests will enjoy a mixture of single and double rooms, as well as king suites. Each guestroom has a hospitality center that features a mini-refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. In-room entertainment and information services include video-on-demand movies, video games and interactive Hilton guest services. The hotel will also feature the signature Hilton Garden Inn glass-walled pavilion entrance housing a casual restaurant offering freshly prepared breakfast and dinner, and a comfortable lounge area. Guests can also enjoy dining in the privacy of their room with room service provided during dinner hours. The facility will also include a substantial amount of flexible meeting space; a 24-hour, complimentary business center; workout facility; indoor swimming pool and whirlpool; and a guest laundry facility.
Hilton Garden Inn received the "Highest Guest Satisfaction Among Mid-Scale Hotel Chains With Full Service" award in the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study. This accolade marks five consecutive years that Hilton Garden Inn has received the award, outranking other mid-scale full service brands included in the study. Hilton Garden Inn was also named the “Best Mid-Price Hotel Value” by Entrepreneur magazine as a part of the publication’s 2007 Business Travel Awards.
