KANNAPOLIS, NC (AUGUST 6, 2008) - The Cabarrus County Tourism Authority announced today that the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center will host the first Carolina Living Green Expo November 21 – 23, 2008.
This fun-filled family weekend will showcase more sustainable lifestyles. Individuals and businesses will benefit from the products, services, and information featured at the expo. “Combine our outstanding supporters with three days of educational seminars and you are sure to leave this Expo with the knowledge to make better choices and to realize your impact on the environment,” said W.C. Lanier, owner and president of the Carolina Living Green Expo. “Too many people just do not understand all that ‘Living Green’ encompasses. Our goal is to teach people the full meaning of Living Green.”
“The Carolina Living Green Expo will be a tremendous asset to our tourism industry,” said DeSales Wagster, President/CEO of the Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The concept of going green has reached full force in the tourism industry with focus on sustaining our natural assets. It’s critical that all citizens do their part to help maintain the natural resources of our state and country.” Wagster believes the many seminars will be of interest not only to citizens, but also to community leaders and officials who can learn more about Biodiesel fuels, Biopower for electricity, public policy and legislation and incentives to Green companies.
Admission and parking for the expo are free. The seminars include a small fee for participation and pre-registration is encouraged. Individuals can register online at www.carolinalivinggreenexpo.com. The show will run Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22 from 9 am until 5 pm and Sunday, November 23 from 9 am until 4 pm. In addition to the expo and the seminars, the show will feature a career day for high school students on Friday, November 21 featuring information on careers in many fields and how green initiatives impact those fields.
The Carolina Living Green Expo is owned by President, W.C. Lanier of Wilmington, North Carolina. Lanier is also owner of the former Mid-Atlantic Farm Show which he purchased in July 2006 as a continuation of over 30 years of hard work and dedication by previous owners. Now, the show is being revitalized to include the green initiatives. Coming from a long-standing farm family, W.C. Lanier is interested in continuing the legacy of the Mid-Atlantic Farm Show and growing the new event in areas consistent with the current trend toward a more sustainable environment.
