UNC Charlotte will host the Criminal Justice Community Forum, Thursday, Oct. 30, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Harris Alumni Center on campus.
Managing crime and justice in Charlotte is a challenge. UNC Charlotte’s forum is designed to provide an open dialogue between faculty and community leaders to identify ways that the University and the Criminal Justice Department can assist community agencies with research and support.
Various community leaders will attend including six police chiefs (with their staff), four sheriffs (with their staff), a local court administrator, a U.S. federal prosecutor, as well as representatives from schools and victim advocate programs. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief, Rodney Monroe and District Attorney Peter Gilchrist will attend.
Chancellor Philip L. Dubois and the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Science, Nancy Gutierrez, will deliver welcoming remarks.
UNC Charlotte’s Criminal Justice Department is presenting the forum.
