CONCORD – Law Enforcement Officers from Concord and Cabarrus County will brighten the lives of more than 50 deserving children again this year with its “Shop with a Cop” event.
On December 20th beginning at 8:00 am, the children will gather at the Concord Boys and Girls Club for breakfast. Each child will be introduced to their “Officer Buddy” and will then participate in a police car caravan to Super Kmart on Highway 29. The officers will assist the children in picking out an assortment of clothes, personal items and toys. After returning to the Boys and Girls club, the day will conclude with lunch and a visit from Santa Claus.
Participating children are chosen by officer referrals, based on financial need, from Concord, Kannapolis and Cabarrus County law enforcement offices.
“Shop with a Cop” has been hosted by the Fraternal Order of Police for over 10 years and has provided “Christmas” to hundreds of children who otherwise might not have had one.
The Fraternal Order of Police is composed of officers in the Concord Police Department, Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Department, Kannapolis Police Department, retired law enforcement and affiliate members. Proceeds of this event are made possible by membership dues and donations from the local community.
We invite you to join us at this worthwhile event! It is what Christmas is all about!!
