A special launch event for the new Rowan Express is scheduled for Thursday, March 26th at 8:30 a.m. at the Frank T. Tadlock South Rowan Public Library.

A partnership between China Grove, Landis, Kannapolis, Rowan County and Salisbury, the Rowan Express will connect these communities with bus service to the RIDER Transit System and the Salisbury Transit System and help link employment centers, shopping, county services and medical facilities.

The service will run hourly between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The fare for the service is $1.00, with no charge for children under 5 years of age. Transfers from the Rider System and Salisbury Transit System are free.

The new service will start on April 6, 2009.
