The City of Concord is currently accepting Youth Council applications for the 2009-2010 school year. All rising 9th to 11th graders are encouraged to apply. Youth Council is composed of representatives from the youth population of Concord and its surrounding area.
Any youth who is willing to accept the responsibility and challenge can be a member. Youth Council strives to make Concord a more enjoyable place through the wide variety of educational, social, recreational and service projects it provides to the community. It provides a unique opportunity to build leadership skills and techniques, learn organizational and administrative skills, enhance personal skills, enjoy social and recreational outings, and become a member of an active, exciting organization.
Youth Council provides the opportunity to serve as a liaison with City officials. The City of Concord seeks students with dedication to bettering their community and giving youth an official voice within City government.
All projects, which include both local and statewide, are selected and conducted by the Youth Council. Once selected, members coordinate the efforts of the project.
