CONCORD: Concord Police Officers have apprehended three escaped prisoners from Burke County at approximately 6 a.m. this morning.
A call was made to Concord Police and security at Northeast Medical Center reporting a car circling the parking lot at the hospital. Officers found the car and identified it has having been stolen from Burke County. Information was also provided that the occupants of the vehicle were likely to be three escaped prisoners from the Burke County Jail.
Officers and NEMC security staff were able to surround the vehicle and quickly apprehend the three individuals. They have been identified as:
Matthew Pierce, Larry Harbison, Bryant Burgess.
They have made their first court appearance before the Cabarrus County District Judge this morning. They have been charged by Concord Police with possession of a stolen vehicle. Bond was set at $20,000 for each prisoner. They will be transferred into the custody of the Burke County Sheriff momentarily and returned to the Burke County Jail where they will face additional charges.
