Renaissance Festival Blood Drive

The American Red Cross and the annual Carolina Renaissance Festival are working together to host a blood drive with a medieval twist to be held Sunday, September 3rd from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the Cannon School, 5801 Poplar Tent Road in Concord. The first 100 donors will receive a free admission ticket to the Carolina Renaissance Festival, returning for its 24th annual season 8 consecutive weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, September 30 - November 19. In addition, all donors will receive buy one, get one free coupons for RenFest admission and a Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last. The inaugural renaissance blood drive will feature appearances by renaissance performers. Donors are invited to join the colorful cast of medieval pirates, nobles and knights by also wearing costumes. “The Carolina Renaissance Festival is excited to be supporting the important work of the American Red Cross,” said Matt Siegel, director of marketing and entertainment at Carolina Renaissance Festival. “We look forward to kicking off a new annual tradition of encouraging Festival fans to give thy noble blood and save lives.” Every day, volunteer donors across the country are needed to help save lives. Blood and platelets are needed for accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease. Eligible donors of all blood types are urged to make an appointment to ensure blood is available to meet patient needs.
