Piedmont Choral Society Concert: Celebrate America

The 50 voice Piedmont Choral Society and over 25 guest community singers join together to present the 15th annual "Celebrate America" benefit concert series. The group began these concerts in 2004 with a mission to honor our country and service personnel AND give back to our community by collecting donations for a local non-profit organization.

Each year, the group chooses a local non-profit to receive the proceeds from their Thursday night concert. Since 2004, almost $30,000 has been donated through the generosity of concert goers. Non-profit groups including Hospice of Cabarrus County, Meals on Wheels, Logan Child Development Center and Wings of Eagles Therapeutic Riding Ranch have been past recipients. This year's chosen non-profit is Habitat for Humanity. A representative from Habitat and a "Habitat Family" will be at the Thursday night concert.

These concerts are filled with exciting and inspiring patriotic music, including America the Beautiful, God Bless the USA, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Salute to the Armed Forces and many others. All military personnel and their families will be honored, along with a moving tribute to our POWs and MIAs. Those who gave the ultimate sacrifice will also be gratefully remembered. A reception will follow the Thursday night concert. Joseph Judge is director and Dr. Don Simmons is accompanist. Concerts are FREE and all are welcome...
