Bells of Peace

Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the WWI Armistice

On the 100th anniversary of the WWI Armistice - the famed eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month - bells across the nation will ring to honor those who served and sacrificed in the Great War.  The bell in front the of the Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society Museum in Mt. Pleasant will toll 21 times to remember the 4.5 million Americans who served.  Among the 116,516 killed in the war, 41 were from Cabarrus County.  The public is invited to the bell ringing ceremony in front of the museum at the College St. entrance.
