Piedmont Choral Society Annual Free Spring Concerts and Patriotic Concert Series/Benefit Event.
Area 65 voice community choir presents music for all tastes with works of Mozart, Haydn, American Composers and several spirituals. Patriotic concert series scheduled for June 20, 21 and 23.
The 65 voice Piedmont Choral Society will present its annual free spring concerts at 7:00 pm Friday, May 17th at Calvary Lutheran Church, 950 Bradley Street (off Branchview Dr. NE - Hwy. 3), Concord and again at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 19th at Forest Hill UMC, 265 Union Street North, Concord. The group is all volunteer, with members coming from Cabarrus and surrounding counties. Joseph Judge is director and Dr. Don Simmons is accompanist. Mr. Judge is Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at Pfeiffer University and music director of Central Methodist Church in Albemarle. Dr. Simmons is adjunct Professor of Music at Pfeiffer as well as music director and organist of Kimball Lutheran Church in Kannapolis. The spring concerts will be accompanied by a string quintet, piano and organ and will feature the music of Mozart, Haydn and American composers along with several lively spirituals. Something for everyone! The choral group performs many times during the year, with two formal concerts and several informal events annually. All events are free, and no ticket is required. Just come, show your support of our local arts group, and enjoy some great music.... and bring your friends!

Local singers who wish to participate with the choir in these patriotic concerts are welcome to join the group for 3 rehearsals, beginning Monday, June 3 at 7 pm at Forest Hill UMC - no audition necessary, but you must call and register before that date - 704.699.6053.
