Memorial Day Parade


Description:

The Kannapolis Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will be held in Veterans Park. The parade travels down Main Street in Kannapolis from the North Carolina Research Campus parking deck to Veterans Park. At the conclusion of the parade the ceremony will begin with Retired United States Air Force Colonel Quincy Collins and United States Congressman Richard Hudson delivering remarks. There will also be special patriotic music performances. All Vietnam Era War Veterans will receive a Vietnam War Memorial lapel pin given by the Carolina's Freedom Foundation. Everyone is asked to bring lawn chairs and American flags to wave during the parade and ceremony. Special seating will available to all Vietnam Era Veterans and Gold Star Mothers. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Beaver-Pittman American Legion Post 115 at 615 South Main Street will host a reception for Vietnam Era Veterans and their families at approximately 2 PM.
