Categorized as: Community & Neighborhood
Event tags: Walking Tour, History

Guided Walking Tours will be held the Second Saturday of each month, April through October, beginning next month on Saturday, September 10th. Tours will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run 60-75 minutes. There is a $10 fee for the Guided Walking Tour. Registrations can be made through the CDDC and its website.

This tour is designed to start from the downtown area and proceed north toward Buffalo Avenue. This was the primary residential area for merchants, industrialists, and professionals serving Concord during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and showcases some of the finest architecture in Cabarrus County.

This tour highlights fourteen pivotal properties. However, other notable buildings, homes and churches can be viewed strolling the area including Spring Street and the Edgewood neighborhood. Concord's Historic Districts are an important part of North Carolina's architectural legacy.
