It's opening weekend for "The Spitfire Grill" at Old Courthouse Theatre in Concord!

"The Spitfire Grill is a story of Hope – it’s a story with heart," said theatre representative, Justin Colasacco. In the play, A young woman, Percy Talbott, arrives in the small town that became the focus of her prison dreams after she saw an idyllic picture in a travel brochure. However, she soon discovers Gilead, Wisconsin is an economically depressed dead-end. Everyone is struggling to let go of the past while they search for hope and personal redemption. Percy's arrival leads to major changes in the lives and attitudes of everyone she meets.

Meanwhile, Hannah, the crusty old owner of The Spitfire Grill, who reluctantly employs Percy, has put the eatery up for sale. With no takers, Percy suggests to Hannah that she raffle it off. Entry fees are one hundred dollars and the best essay on why you want the grill wins. Soon, mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow full and things definitely start "cookin'" at the Spitfire Grill.

The show runs through February 24, with three Friday & Saturday night shows at 8 pm and three Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. Tickets are on sale at OCT is located at 49 Spring Street in Concord.
