It’s already that time of year, when the sounds of summer and splashes have finally given way to the twinkle of Christmas lights and the faint call of jingle bells in the distance. Yes, the Holidays are upon us. And, with this time of year, also comes the inevitable temptation of the most decadent desserts we will sample all year long.
Every year, we, here at Cabarrus Magazine, try to theme one issue towards something related to food. After all, it is something that is a part of each of our lives – more passionately in some than others. With it being the holiday season, we thought a great topic would be to focus on everyone’s favorite part of the meal – dessert!
However, we also recognize it’s not in everyone’s best interest to succumb to the temptation desserts bring, so we have an article for those who are looking for healthier alternatives when it comes to sweet treats. In addition, we will offer up suggestions for food-related gifts and party offerings to make you a hero.
People aren’t the only ones who like treats, however. That’s why we will also give you some ways to pamper and spoil your fur babies this season as well!
For you home chefs out there, our friends at 44 Mills Restaurant have offered up their Bread Pudding Recipe for you to make in your own kitchen. I would also like to especially thank them for our beautiful cover photo this month, taken by Sue Sidzina Photography!
No matter your interest, the real reason many of us are so passionate about food is because, generally, we share it with other people. It represents family, community and can often spawn fond memories of Holiday seasons gone by. We hope you will use this installment of Cabarrus Magazine to initiate some much-needed quality time with the ones you love. There’s nothing sweeter than that.
